Tiene m\u00e1s de 80.000 habitantes y es el tercer m\u00e1s poblado<strong> <\/strong>de la provincia almeriense. Es conocido como \u00abel <strong>mar de pl\u00e1stico<\/strong>\u00bb los numerosos cultivos de <strong>invernadero <\/strong>que son la base de la <strong>econom\u00eda <\/strong>del pueblo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En medio de este mar, existe un lugar de gran inter\u00e9s ecol\u00f3gico, el <strong>Parque Natural de Punta Entinas-Sabinar<\/strong>, conjunto de dunas, playas y lagunas de gran inter\u00e9s ecol\u00f3gico.
